About VOD Chat Analytics
What is This?
VOD Chat Analytics is a tool that analyzes chat messages from Twitch Video-on-Demand (VOD) streams. We process chat data from completed streams to provide insights into chat activity, popular words, emotes, and the most active participants.
How It Works
Our background worker continuously monitors selected streamers and processes their VODs once they're at least 18 hours old (ensuring chat data is complete). For each VOD, we analyze:
- Chat Activity Timeline - See how chat activity changes throughout the stream
- Top Chatters - Identify the most active participants in chat
- Popular Words - Discover trending words and phrases
- Most Used Emotes - See which emotes were used most frequently
- Statistics - Total messages, unique chatters, average chat rate, and peak activity
Data Processing
All analytics are computed server-side and cached for fast access. We exclude bot accounts from chatter leaderboards and filter out common stop words to provide meaningful insights. The data is updated automatically as new VODs become available.
For Creators
Streamers can get their channel listed on this site through our creator listing program. This helps increase visibility and allows viewers to easily access your VOD analytics. Visit the home page to learn more about getting listed.

How do I view analytics for a streamer?
Browse the list of streamers on the home page and click on any streamer card. You'll see a list of their cached VODs. Click on any VOD to view detailed analytics.
Why don't I see analytics for a recent VOD?
VODs need to be at least 18 hours old before we process them. This ensures that all chat messages have been fully archived by Twitch. Check back later, or look for older VODs that have already been processed.
How often is the data updated?
Our background worker checks for new VODs every hour. Once a VOD is old enough and processed, the analytics are cached and available immediately.
Are bot messages included in the analytics?
Bot accounts are excluded from the top chatters leaderboard, but their messages are included in total message counts and other statistics. We filter out common bots like Nightbot, StreamElements, Moobot, and others.
How can I get my channel listed?
Visit the home page and look for the creator signup section. You can submit your channel for review and start a subscription to keep your channel listed on the site.
What data is shown in the analytics?
We show total messages, unique chatters, average chats per second, peak activity in 10-minute windows, a timeline of chat activity, top 20 chatters, top 50 words, and top 30 emotes. All data is aggregated and anonymized where appropriate.
Is my chat data private?
All chat data is publicly available on Twitch. We only aggregate and display statistics that are already visible to anyone watching the VOD. We don't store individual chat messages, only aggregated analytics.
